This article analyzes the applicability of the Discourse Ethics theory of Jurgen Habermas to public relations ethics. It explores the major facets of Discourse Ethics and demonstrates its compatibility with the Grunig-Hunt two-way symmetrical model of public relations. This volume presents Habermass most recent contributions to ethical theory, expanding and clarifying his controversial theory of discourse ethics. Responding to criticisms of his theory, Habermas defends the claim of discourse ethics to a central position in contemporary moral philosophy.
